This is the classic, and instantly recognisable, shape and style of an Emma Bridgewater half pint mug.

Manufactured at the company's factory in Stoke on Trent, the mug is cast from clay mined in the West Country, Staffordshire and Wales before being fired in the kiln at 950°C.  Depending on the design of the mug it is then decorated by hand using a hand-cut sponge, or lithographed.  After glazing it's back to the kiln for the final firing and "voila" you have an Emma Bridgewater mug.

That sounds easy enough, but in fact over 30 pairs of hands will have touched your ½pt Mug during its journey through the factory.  And at each stage that requires the immense skills and craftmanship of the workforce, together with a great deal of their love and attention to detail, before an Emma Bridgewater product is deemed good enough for you to buy.
